About Rayne
I was taught Chinese Brush Painting by Mr. Fok, the resident teacher at my daughter’s Chinese school in South Africa. Eight years later, on arriving in England, I found it difficult to find lessons at my level so decided the best way to learn more was to teach the subject myself.
I enrolled in an adult education teaching course and taught from my home in the evenings. Within the year I was very busy at various adult education centres with workshops and regular classes and decided to make it a full time occupation. For a short time while my husband was based in China I took the opportunity to further my studies and have since been upgrading my skills with various teachers from Hong Kong, Singapore, China and the UK.

Since arriving in Spain I have exhibited at various venues which include the Marriot Hotel in Dénia, the Parador in Jávea and numerous small galleries situated in towns along the coast. Complementary articles have been written in English and Spanish newspapers and I have also demonstrated live twice for Spanish television.
For two years I sailed around the world with P&O cruise ships running workshops, private classes and demonstrations – and doing the odd impromptu demonstration in various ports of call.
I still hold regular workshops in England in Chinese Brush Painting and painting on silk and with my styles and techniques constantly evolving, I now apply an oriental flavour to Acrylics and charcoal drawing.
